# Dataset notes

Generated 2026-09-13 from the project owner's 25-level Spanish/English test
selection. The published list contains 1,479 curated words and phrases.

The selection was designed for vocabulary testing rather than as a complete
frequency dictionary. Cognates, near-cognates, proper names, brand names,
acronyms, and culturally obvious loanwords were excluded from the supplied
selection. English glosses are concise test answers, not exhaustive dictionary
definitions.

The receptive-vocabulary ranges displayed for Levels 1–25 are estimates for the
broader vocabulary associated with each band. They are not counts of the test
items in the corresponding JSON file. CEFR labels are approximate and do not
turn this vocabulary check into a formal CEFR assessment.

Administrator edits are applied in a separate reviewed layer and can change an
entry's wording, grammatical label, eligibility, cognate status, or visibility.
